THE BIRDS

I like Du Maurier's story much better than the film, but it does have its moments. Like Tippi Hedren's gorgeous freezeframe reaction to the burning gas. Or the seagulls hovering into frame as you watch, like a dispassionate observer, from the sky. Or the birds doing to the birthday party what I would like to do to every birthday party.
